thanks for the invite Rich

I did have many old stock certificates, that I inherited

some were converted into a single newer one where there were many shares

others had evolved like AT&T

my broker asked if he could keep the old ones and I agreed [he collected them]

they were all from greatgrams Katie - a woman way ahead of her time - bought stock almost every quarter it seemed - kept certs in an old locked box [along with ancient bonds]

this was a while ago, but I remember Bank Of America, Kimberly Clark, AT&T, a local utility, others

she dividend re-invested, some grew into huge amounts for that time

your thread brings it all back

smiles

History
  • Fold-Pak originated in the late 1800s as Bloomer Brothers, a manufacturer of recycled paperboard and folding cartons.
  • In 1977, after several acquisitions, the company's Newark, NY, folding carton business became a separate entity, Fold-Pak Corporation.
  • From 1983 - 1994, Fold-Pak expanded to Fresno, CA; Columbus, GA; and Hazleton, PA. The company responded to customer demand for alternatives to foam take-out containers with BIO-PAK and BIO-PLUS EARTH packaging, an innovative line of paperboard food containers.
  • In 1998, Gulf-States Paper acquired Fold-Pak and formed GSD Packaging, a joint venture with Dopaco. FOLD-PAK, BIO-PAK, BIO-PLUS EARTH, and SMARTSERV containers emerged as the company's leading products.
  • In 2005, RockTenn, a leading North American producer of consumer and corrugated packaging and recycling solutions, acquired Gulf-States and restored the Fold-Pak name after purchasing all GSD Packaging assets.
  • In 2013, Fold-Pak moved the company's operation in Columbus, GA to Lebanon, TN to support the continued growth of the product line.
  • Today, Fold-Pak serves a wide range of markets with high-quality, paperboard packaging solutions made from a sustainable natural resource. Fold-Pak products are also recyclable and 100% made in the U.S.A.

On May 31, 2002, Goodrich Corporation (now UTC Aerospace Systems) spun off its Engineered Industrial Products business segment into a new company, named EnPro Industries, Inc. The spinoff consisted of businesses that were originally owned by Coltec Industries, which had been purchased by Goodrich in 1998. [3] The businesses included in the spinoff were: Garlock Sealing Technologies, GGB Bearing Technology, STEMCO, Fairbanks Morse Engine and Quincy Compressor [1] [4] (which was sold to Atlas Copco in 2010). [5] Asbestos liability was limited by complicate tax manipulation, Joseph Andolino was one of the architects.

Since the formation of EnPro Industries, the company has acquired a number of companies that are focused on engineered industrial products.
