I was lucky enough to get off-the-shelf frames for a couple of my oils that work really well. I've also made my own frames by combining various moldings. I wouldn't frame an $11K painting like that, though, even if I found something wonderful. It just wouldn't seem right. As it turns out, the artist frames all her own paintings. The one I already bought has the perfect frame. I haven't seen a picture of this one framed but I'm sure the quality will be commensurate with the beauty and price of the painting.

I haven't made a decision about buying the painting yet. I've been watching it since December. I keep half hoping someone will buy it and spare me the decision. Can't buy it this week for sure, not after all this talk of struggling people in Pittsburgh. I'd feel like Marie Antoinette.
