You certainly don't run into a whole lot of gun-totin' duck-huntin' Bible-thumpin' small town folk in Georgetown or the tonier enclaves in Fairfax. You do get a lot of middle-class older folks who moved out west of Washington when it was first developed and still live in very modest houses, when they haven't been gobbled up as McMansions. But those are the voters who tipped the VA Senate Democratic by leaning away from the Republicans in the last state elections. Probably have to go further west and south to get the genuine small town crowd.
