Really? Huge research expenditures? Do you have any kind of a price tag, or are you just making assumptions? Have you done or seen any kind of cost/benefit analysis?

There are companies already working on commercializing those technologies. Just not American ones. So apparently, some people seem to think there's a profit to be made there.

But by all means, let's just declare it far too expensive without any further thought, and revert to 19th century energy sources. Let the rest of the world pass us by.
