How would that happen? Maybe for the lucky few employees that get the union jobs in the few industries that for some reason have no competition. I haven't looked at the comparative wages data in some time. But last time I looked wages were highest in sectors with strong labor unions. My point is that organizing in more sectors might well narrow the income gap. One of the reasons the gap has grown so much has been the weakness of labor unions and their relative absence in national politics.
