Re: Newsday

From Wikipedia:

Newsday is a daily tabloid-size newspaper that primarily serves Long Island and the New York City borough of Queens, although it is sold throughout the New York City metropolitan area. As of fall 2007, Newsday's weekday circulation of 387,000 made it 10th-highest in the United States, and the highest for a suburban newspaper.[4]

The newspaper headquarters is in Melville, New York, on Long Island.

en.wikipedia.org

Wikipedia at this link states that at one time Bill Moyers served as their publisher.

>>Can you give me some background on "Newsday". Their clientele. Whether people pay money to read what they write etc. etc.<<

CSFO -

That post about Obama and the Greenberg Traurig money was not from Newsday. It was from a blog called Hot Air. After asking about the source I looked it up myself.

hotair.com

I just spent some time on Hot Air and have concluded that it's very appropriately named. I also reviewed that Obama story carefully, and it became obvious that the spin is really quite intense.

Greenberg Traurig is a big law firm, and no evidence has been presented to indicate that any of the Greenberg employees who gave to Obama's campaign are lobbyists.

While it could have been a legitimate issue to bring up, I don't think the Morrissey post meets any kind of journalistic standard for objectivity. I'm not sure it even rises above the "smear" category.
