I keep hearing about the seasonal effects on the gold price but
never quite believed it thinking that such a large market would be too efficient (vaguely if not perfectly) for that. Well FWIW I finally did a home-brewed statistical analysis of the last 3 1/2 years and found to my surprise it was indeed true, quite strongly in fact with the year split neatly in two; Aug-Jan (strong period) and Feb-Jul. Statistical details on request.

I put in for some shares of Intrepid Potash (IPI) in today's IPO pricing. These clever guys bought some old potash mines and reactivated them using horizontal drilling method from the oil patch. Maybe it would work in China?

Recommendation: Ignore Snowshoe - he got his ass kicked by NovaGold!
