Tim, concerning Rev. Jeremiah Wright?
What kind of logic is that?
Quoting wikipedia-
"Ted Bundy was a good, if not spectacular, student at Woodrow Wilson High School, and was active in the local Methodist Church and the Boy Scouts of America Boy Scouts. He was usually described as an educated, handsome and charming young man."
-that was before he turned serial killer and rapist to the tune of 30 mutilated bodies.
So Jeremiah Wright was a good marine, before becoming a bitter, angry, urban, racist minister- who in turn preached his message of bitterness, hate, and racism to tens of thousands, including a Presidential candidate, who chose this angry, bitter, racist preacher to marry him to his (bitter, angry, racist, America hating) wife, to baptize his kids, and to counsel him on numerous political decisions.
You know what Tim, let me tell you the real reality in America. For 20 years we've been giving reparations to black America for no other reason- than the color of their skin.
These reparations in the form of affirmative action, actually discriminate against white people- many who even participated in fighting for civil rights in the 1960's, many who stood side by side with blacks in marches on Washington, and in protests at Universities.
But, now those same people, or their children and grandchildren- are now discrimated against- because of the color of THEIR skin.
Some payback 'huh?
You assume too much. I am not a racist. I could care less if my daughter marries a yellow, red, purple, white, or a black man. I have hired all of the above, expect a purple man. I have had all of the above into my home. But, WHEN do white people who in many cases, either they, or they parents were immigrants themselves from oppressed fates, and who now can not get into the college of their choice, or the job of their choice, EVEN if their have SUPERIOR test scores, qualifications and credentials- because of quotas and, or affirmative action policies?
Where is the justice, or goodness in that Tim?
WHEN does it end? 10 more years? 50 more years, or 100 more years?
WHEN do white people- many who are new immigrants to America, for whom none of their ancestors ever engaged in slavery, and in many cases- where their ancestors were oppressed people in their former countries; WHEN do they quit being PUNISHED for just being 'white' skinned?
RACISM by any other name, is still RACISM.
YOU can choose to call it 'affirmative action', or a 'quota', or justify it in any way, shape, or form you wish- but, that doesn't make it right- and it doesnt make it- not a form of RACISM.
So tell me Tim- why should a White teenager who immigrated to America at the age of 7 from Russia, after his father was murdered by the communists, who was raised by a single mother, who worked 3 jobs, scrubbing floors, doing dishes, and waiting tables- why should that straight "A" student, not be able to get into the Law School of his choice, or become a Police Captain- only because of the color of his skin?
Why should young Dimitri, even with having higher test scores, and better qualifications be DISCRIMINATED against- only because of the COLOR of HIS skin?
Tell me Tim- when does Dimitri, or his childen, or his childrens-children, stop being discriminated against?
5 more years? 50 more years? Another century?
How about when the next election proves who the real racists are in this country, when black America votes solely based on race, and when WHITE America votes a significant majority for a BLACK Man and elects him President?
Will it end then Tim?
If it will - Obama has my vote.
