That's the centitrillion dollar question. The ClownBuck has abdicated it's throne as the reserve currency. Can the Euro pick up the sceptre and crown, or will it fumble it to the Renmimbi?

The Germans have usually not met the conditions of the Stability and Growth Pact to keep the budget deficit under 3% of GDP.

A google shows that in 2006-2007, the budget met the conditions of SGP, but if exports slow down, the rosy predictions of a balanced budget by 2010 will probably never materialize.

M3 growth has been in the double digits in the Eurozone too.
