<<<What will a Hillary Clinton presidency look like?>>>

Bernstein makes two very important points:

1. "And yet, there is no denying that, compared to the Bush years, the accomplishments of the Clinton presidency, in which she was an elemental force (and generalissimo in the often successful fight against the forces of “the vast right-wing conspiracy”) are prodigious, marked by peace and prosperity, whatever the price of the Clintons’ methodologies and personal failings."

2. "Hillary Clinton’s unique star power, her performance as a senator and fundraiser on behalf of her party are what gave legitimacy to the idea that she might be a credible presidential candidate: all premised on her changed demeanor in the Senate years, compared to her embattled tenure as first lady. As a steward of her state’s interest, and a patient student of senatorial compromise and collegiality, she was widely commended by former skeptics in Congress and the press."

She was a full and very important partner in the Clinton Presidency that was very successful.

And, she is magnificent in the Senate.

Does she make mistakes? Yes.
Does she have faults? Yes.

Based on her track record, it is likely she could be a great President.

And endless psychodrama

That's what a lot of us have less than zero interest in. I truly dread it but I wouldn't vote against Hillary in November, based purely on my policy preferences.

If McCain were positioned more like Bush, Sr. (who I did vote for), I would have to stop and think carefully between him and Hillary.

The Republicans are making a start on peeling off swing voters with a candidate like McCain. But they haven't cottoned on to how well they could do with a genuine moderate. The activist base won't let them, despite the political futility of their 51% president lately.
