"But Hitler himself said so...wait, he wasn't a socialist."

You are correct. Hitler was a socialist because he pushed the trade unions to the forefront and worked hard to abolish private property.

Oh, wait, that didn't happen. While he did talk about strengthening the trade unions, after he gained power he crushed them. While he did talk about socialism early on, in practice he virtually nothing he actually did was reflective of socialism. The only businesses he took away were owned by Jews. I don't think that counts as socialism.

Hitler and his gang just took over a weak party already in existence to subvert and pilot to power. It happened to be the National Socialist Party. Early on, he even made speeches that sound like he's a socialist, to gain support within the party. Later, he was sending socialists to the slave labor camps. It has no more meaning than Bush's "Blue Skies Initiative" or "Clean Water Program" - just bushwah.

But he sure had a BIG problem with other socialists trying to compete with him on his own turf.
Like the German Social Democratic Party (banned 1933) and the Stalin Commies (attacked 1941).

Hmmm......nationalism, anti Semitism and a gov't/corporation alliance were the big three in Hitler's ideology. All three are considered to be the purview of extreme conservatism. Stop trying to change history, Taro.
