As I recall, Bob, this conversation started with your calling the notion that global warming was caused by humans, "looney." I fail to see how that relates to Gore's life style. As for the substance of that, I know some folk who live in a grander style than Gore's whose views I respect and some I don't. Ditto for some who live in humbler circumstances. On the issue of global warming caused by human activity, my guess is that's something this thread has debated to worse than the proverbial fare-the-well. So I don't wish to debate it and I assume you don't. I just wish to underline the notion that you will need to expect some counter posting if you call our views "looney."

Al Gore living in a huge mansion and warning about GW is all one needs to know about him. That's how I always felt about chickenhawk neocons who never served a day in uniform, and act mighty brave about going to war as long as their ass never gets shot at. Washington think tanks and tony restaurants are a much more comfortable setting for their saber-rattling.

In all fairness that mansion is now heated with solar panels. has his own water supply, generates his own electricity. I think he has wind mills as he has the land. It is as they say a GREEN HOUSE, albeit large and quite the thing. A picture of it was posted on some TV program. Maybe Bill Moyers Journal. He talked too about how terribly felt about that lost election. To win the popular vote and then....... Well we all know. I almost got a little teary eyed myself.. Then I thought of what the difference might of been in our lives..and I got angry.
