Hard to draw a generalization such as that while medical and scientific research remains largely blocked by government bureaucracies... (and while there are growing numbers of physicians around the world, in specific illness areas, who argue otherwise.)

Like I said though --- aside from an aversion to Big Brother trying to run everyone's lives, and tell adults what they can and cannot do --- I would be quite content to let the medical researchers and scientists research to their heart's content... and let the chips fall where they may as far as medical utility.

(Though I am already convinced that there is vast commercial utility to be had for the seeds and fiber, totally apart from any possible medicinal uses....)
