This whole bit about politicians really being in touch with the lower middle class is a farce, no matter who does it. Some are less distant than others, at best.

I heard that Bill Clinton used to slip in and out quietly, also, for his various assignations.

But there was never much of a story made of it. Kept pretty quiet; the SS would have been embarrassed.
