Mention Nuclear and I laugh when I think of last nights' episode of Boston Legal. One of the cases Nantucket is suing in order to have a nuclear bomb.. They think that the wealth on the island can afford to build one and that they are an island and not well defended..That's the jist of the story.

Sounds illogical but as with all the three or four cases per night on BL this one was really the effort of those who live on Nantucket to initiate more awareness on the part of the public to the fact that there is no arms treaty. Bush did away with it and that there are about five countries that we know have an nuclear bomb. Little details are brought out too such as the imperfection of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. It was only 10% effective. The other 90% did not work.

I think this program is one of the best written for TV. It wraps all of the issues in humor and yet is so on target for getting the conundrums of ideas across. Or the absurdity of some of our thinking. It's rather liberal... smile... For example another case last night that was argued was for a morphine drip to be given to the father of one of the
officiers in the law firm. Her dad was unreponsive, could not be touched and she wanted the drip to ease his pain.

A court order had to be obtained as the hospital doctor ethically could not administer the drip. The arguments for and against having that drip are issues that MAKE ONE THINK.

Try the program.. 10 pm. on Tuesday nights.
