My presumption is that the Republicans will attack Obama on his house purchase.

The question will be: Did the purchase of an adjacent lot by Rezko's wife subsidize Obama's purchase of the adjoining house?

Based on the facts as reported in newspaper articles, I believe the lot purchase did subsidize his house purchase and allow him to save $300,000 on the purchase price. What I don't have an opinion on is whether or not he and Rezko planned it out together. If this is the case, then Obama becomes a liar and thus dishonest.

If they didn't plan it, but instead Rezko took it upon himself to pay what he did for the lot, it's still bad for Obama because it shows poor judgment.

I believe the Rs will be able to make the case that the lot purchase did indeed subsidize the house purchase because they will pick up on a fact that appears to have been overlooked so far by the MSM....at least I haven't seen it written about yet.
But it was the first thing that jumped out at me when I first read the Sun article. It was the appraised value of the 10' by 150' strip that Obama later bought back from Rezko.

It's the appraised value given by Obama himself that is the key, I think, to the whole thing.

Go back and read the original article again and zero in on this and I think you'll see what I'm talking about. Just look at this and its relationship to the other purchase prices, etc. and I think you'll see what I'm talking about. If you don't, then ask me tomorrow and I'll explain it further.

I'm not worried about the trial or expecting anything to come out of it as the real estate deal shouldn't be relevant to the charges against Rezko.
