Re: "You can understand my confusion."

Not at all, actually....

Re: "... You stated you support the Flat Tax. The federal rate for equalibrium would be around 30%."

No. I stated that I had LONG supported 'a flat tax system'. (I NEVER said ANYTHING about '30%').

There are MANY proposed 'flat tax systems' all around the world... (and in no way is the concept of 'one tax rate' wedded to a '30%' figure, LOL!) and, I *also* support significant reductions to federal spending... which would alter whatever 'equilibrium rate' you have in your mind....

Re: [Like what we --- unfortunately --- have so very much of right now in our massively-over-complex and corrupted tax codes.] --- 'Exactly. The IRS fails what many consider to be the most important rule of business: "KISS".'

The IRS is tasked with FOLLOWING and obeying the tax laws that congress and the Executive pass. NOT writing tax laws themselves.

The blame for our faulty tax system lies with the politicians.
