The Nazis didn't nationalize major industries, true. If they'd survived the war, would they have eventually? We'll never know. They did bring private industry under government control though.

Germany was already a social welfare state (pensions, health care, etc.) when the Nazis came to power. They did centralize the welfare bureaucracy and bring it under party control.

They definitely thought of themselves as socialist. Else why would they call themselves socialist.
