Why did the two take such a wacko questioning line?

I thought there were two parts to that. The first was the stuff Rosenberg is calling McCarthyism--you are guilty of your associates. Ugly stuff. As far as I'm concerned, I thought Clinton should have joined Obama in saying something like enough already. Let's move on.

The second part was the basically Republican framing, in a Dem debate!!, of the more serious parts of the conversation--pledges not to raise taxes, reductions in capital gains taxes always produced more income.

You could argue that it was all Republican--the first part about patriotism (writ small such as wearing flag pins, being on a committee with Bill Ayers).

At one level, I thought it was one more too many--Dale's position; and at another, an indication of how much some portions of the media contribute to the low level of our political discourse.

But overall, I simply hope it's forgettable. And hope everyone had the good sense to not have one in NC.
