This. Must. Stop. Tonight, if possible. I thought that we had hit rock bottom in March 2003, when we failed to ask the tough questions in the run-up to the Iraq war. But this feels even lower. We need to pick ourselves up, right now, and start doing our job -- to take a deep breath and remind ourselves of what voters really need to know, and how we get there, that's it's not all horse-race and "gotcha."

Amen and hallelujah that someone is finally noticing and objecting to this trivialized distraction contest.

John;

An open letter to Charlie Gibson and George Stephanapoulos

Thanks for posting this. Very interesting. They are talking about this letter on MSNBC right now.

I think this is only the beginning. It will get uglier.

I think you better get used to it. If you don't have the stomach for it, step aside. It is not going to be easy.

Hillary is prepared for this and Obama is just not ready.

Wow, the outrage this guy feels because his candidate, Obama, got picked on is stunning.

I can't get my arms around why this is such an emotion packed election process. People are transferring way too much emotion onto both the candidates, I think.

Not everyone, of course. But the same people that portray Hillary as fundamentally evil are also portraying Obama as the second coming. I've never followed an election this closely before, but this seems excessive and downright bizarre.

That's the most scathing attack by one media type on another that I've ever read.
