Maybe you are too much in love with a particular type of stocks (biotechs) just I am too much in love with semiconductor stocks. My reason being that I know a lot about that industry - but very little about stock and how to invest in stock per se.

A good stock investor must have an interest in and spend a lot of time on just - stocks. Paying attention to the fundamentals and do all that fancy analysis stuff which is all beyond my understanding and knowledge.

In my case, when the semicon industry is doing well and with it their stock, I do reasonably well. When biotech or solar up and my sector of knowledge down, I am struggling.
