Tim;

"economic sense" doesn't imply cheapest and easiest.

Well that I can sure agree with - but it has nothing to do with the point I was trying to make. My example of a building in the box shape was meant to show that something that is architecturally pleasing to the eye would have no place in your world. The extra cost of a "cool" building is an esoteric cost - that is, even though the building cost more to build, cost more to maintain and cost more to heat, we still build it because - well because we are human.

In the case of energy production, let me use ethanol as an example; if the production of ethanol is cheaper than oil, then would you be free to make ethanol out of corn - even though it sends food prices out of control causing inflation in the land whereby all people suffer? ........There are some cost that are NOT reflected in the cost of ethanol production or oil production. One of those cost in the case of oil is the health care cost of pollution that causes allergies and asthma. Another cost of oil production is the war in Iraq. Figure those cost into the cost of oil and all of a sudden the green energy plays made from renewable energy sources are cheaper! But in case you miss the irony of my example - that does not include all green energy production.
