McCaffrey's been saying this sort of thing for some time. Including the notion that it doesn't matter who gets elected in 08. That person will have to withdraw from Iraq because the US citizenry will simply demand it.

Not just the US citizenry--the US Army and the Marines are dead on their feet. Those people who assert that morale in the Army is high aren't listening to the same people I've been listening to.

But the fact that Bush' policies have driven the Army into the ground won't keep Republicans from claiming in the future that peacenik Democrats "lost" Iraq. What cycles we go through--first we lost China. Then we lost Vietnam. Now (to come shortly) Iraq. Gosh, what a bunch of losers, lol....

And they say the American people are smart. Yeah, I know, I must be an elitist.
