koan: I agree. I think we will dramatically increase our agricultural output going forward and I see it as a long term trend. We have been involved in humongous farm price supports, most of which were allocated in a nutso way.

Now with these sky high prices all land can be turned loose for farmers to grow crops and the US has the ability to produce much more than we are presently producing. We are to food what the middle east is to oil.

And we should save on farm subsidies.
