there are a lot of reasons for the past bubble. Nevertheless, a return to mean will be determined by folks ability to pay for what they live in. Many areas of flyover country exhibit classic job loss real estate deflation. The missed the bubble entirely despite the bubbleomics espoused by greenie and Wall st.

this would not have happened if there was no fractional reserve lending and no Fed.

Do not even need a gold standard, just those two things would have done it.
