That area is 50 miles from the coast plus the land is higher so rates will be lower..but combination of RE taxes, MUD/special assessments and insurance could add up to near 5% of value taking a big bite out of rental income.. Of course a CAT 5 rolling through Galveston or anywhere in those low lying areas would be devastating well inland..
