oil had something to do with it, so did its prominence in the mideast but of course without oil, iraq would have never become a player under saddam either. I get it. OK, assuming you can make the mental jump that the Iraq war is a subsidy to oil industry (most people can't but I believe it) then what is the actual cost of a gallon of gasoline? Remember there are projections that when all is said and done this war will have cost us up to $3 Trillion.
