My only point is that tying is better than losing and any regional war we get into we cant really win in WW2 terms so some form of tie or narrow win is the best we can get. Afganistan comes to mind.

Hardly manufactured, IMO. More of an underestimation of China's willingness to send millions of troops ... and both their tanks.

Vietnam was a different story.
