I've given examples before. One of my favorite examples is farm price supports. Tariffs in general would be another example. I'd add federal criminalization of marijuana, the embargo on Cuba, and a number of other relatively small programs or initiatives.

As for larger programs - The big entitlement/transfer programs, while not as obviously dysfunctional, are transfers with a cost. A relatively small direct cost compared to the amount of money transfered but they are transfers not net benefits to the economy. They don't add, they just move money around.

Then there is all the regulatory cost. Now clearly some regulations, and thus some regulatory cost, is needed, but the extent and complexity of our regulations is dysfunctional.
