Petrol was $A1.52 a litre at a petrol station we passed today. That's the highest I've seen. That's roughly $C1.40? The RBA has probably stopped raising rates. There is a big shortage of housing though. It's hard to imagine with all the apartments that have been constructed in inner Canberra, for example, since I left in 2002. One driver is immigration which is more than double the levels of the 1990s. Heading for 200,000 per year (1% of the population - four times the US legal rate).
