They were the requirements you posted Shepard. I offered no requirement. I simply showed you why the GC statutes you provided do not do what you claimed.

I have stated the facts repeatedly. In a nutshell US law prohibits torture and conspiracy to commit torture. There is no authorisation for torture that over rules that or makes it clearer.

As a US citizen you want something done to stop torture. In order to apply the law you must find violations and demonstrate their applicability. If you want waterboarding to be included, someone must make that determination. I figure that will be happening soon, or at least waterboarding will be declared to harsh. All of the current Pres candidates have said they believe it should be illegal. I also think the flood gates will open to expose abuses once the political climate begins to change, which it already has.

The only other path is to make US law subbordinate to international law, which is not going to happen in the near future and probably not until there is a one world government justice system... which I hope not to witness in my life time.
