He can try to impose his will without proper consent, but rarely if ever does he/she get away with it.

I assume you are talking about Bush. What has he imposed without proper consent?

If we were truly an "imperial presidency country" we would have grabbed a good deal more of land, and would not have provided money and food to anyone else except ourselves.

Give me an example where GWB has done anything like "grab land with an imperial presidency".....

Unless you read words into the NYT articles, WE have NOT done anything like that....

And as far as your comment: I meant that we've gotten to the point where a single individual can impose by fiat his will here at home without proper consent.

Are there examples you wish to point to here?? I can't think of any....
