zeus,

crp is much better than cholesterol for identifying inflammation problems - and heart disease (and diabetes, and cancer and dementia, etc...) appear to have a huge inflammatory component. cholesterol medicines are just a cash cow for the pharmas and they are out to milk it for all it is worth.

i don't think that i've insulted crp in any way. it has its place. i disagree that it is the be all end all, and this seems to bother you quite a lot. i don't understand your response, but to think you somehow have a right to control my opinions, or anyone else's, is not productive.

as for the zone being "horseshit," please elucidate exactly where dr. sears' scientific foundation is wrong - and please be very specific.

i'm willing to learn new things, however, they have to be supported in a rational manner and, preferably, not enclosed in vitriolic book ends. if your issues with the zone diet are based on something other than an in depth knowledge of the science behind the zone and a concise understanding of where it leaves the track of correctness, your view won't do much to persuade anyone, nor should it.

while i've allowed myself to get drug down in the mud into some kind of crp vs the world feud, my real reason for posting my eating, health and exercise results is to inspire other to improve their health and fitness - even if everything else has failed. i think i've done a pretty bad job of keeping this goal in focus.

if an average guy like me can get really good results based on a particular approach, then my hope is that this inspires other average guys and gals so they make an effort to take control of their health because the cost of not doing so is extremely high - even if the payment for said cost is delayed.

the delayed payment seems to be an obstacle that far too many people can't get over - but they should because reality can be one big bad b* (3b). my hope is that people make better decisions now so they can avoid the 3b later.

there is hope even if everything else has failed.
