I detected a move to the left by obama and a dimunintion of power for the U of Chicago team he had guiding him

You detected what move to the left? You sound like someone monitoring the clandestine activities of a guy who goes into johns and taps his feet.

Personally, I have detected no change in Obama's politics....so what game are you playing here?

Well, I think the most important thing a President can do when it comes to the economy is to use common sense management techniques. You spend what revenues you bring in and not a penny more. You follow PayGo rules and you have a progressive tax structure. These are all things Obama believes in. McCain is on the record saying he doesn't know much about the economy, which I suspect is just code for the fact that it doesn't much interest him. His real passion is with foreign affairs, which would be a good thing, if he wasn't so in love with the idea of winning in Iraq. McCain would be every bit as disastrous for this country's economy and standing in the world as Bush was. I'd vote for Hillary before I'd vote for McCain. As vitriolic as Hillary is, at least she believes in getting out of Iraq and getting us to energy independence. She has good plans for both. McCain just says the words "energy independence" periodically to see if he can pick up some voters. But his record on bills that would get us there is horrific.
