It was not just Correa. In fact I think he could do little. The vote in the legislature was 95 to 1 with 38 abstaining.

Of course but on the other hand unbridled development destroys food sources and Ecuador does not want to be dependent on food imports from the USA or any place. Because food is rising their goal is to be self sufficient and in a country like that it is easy, they have everything they need from the land and sea. What they don't need is Ritz crackers and Oreos and Coca Cola with Aspartame (a dangerous neurotoxin) in it.
