Now we have 78 million people starting to retire being replaced by grape pickers. In the 70's, the cream of the crop from countries like India were lining up at US embassies and consulates to immigrate to the US to get their post graduate degrees and work in the the high tech and biotechnology industries. Today they do not need to do so because those jobs are available in their country of domicile even before they graduate from universities. And with their new found wealth they are driving the price of gasoline etc. Even immigrants from those countries are going back for employment there. In the past 8 years we have been successful in cutting off the branch on which we were sitting.
