Generally speaking, in European healthcare systems, docs make less but they have had much of their schooling paid for, tort claims by law are lower, and they aren't burdened with insurance paperwork and headaches fighting for reimbursent.

We have layers of costs in our system that are much lower in the EU. Hence our health care costs about 30% more than in Europe.
