I agree, Gold, and it disturbed me that ALL 410 children are removed into foster care for as long as a year while the case goes to trial. Surely there is some way to keep mothers and children together somehow-- especially the very young ones who aren't able to comprehend what's happening.

I don't disagree with Lindy about how crappy the situation is. On the other hand, these people HAVE to know they were breaking laws, and they chose to continue. Can you really blame the state system for the horror show?

I do agree suspending parental child custody is a serious matter and when necessary extended family should be considered as the first alternative.

We already know that the DA was out to get this community. His office had already jailed one of the leaders. The amount of force that was mobilized overnight shows that they were primed and ready to move upon the first sign of any "evidence" they could manufacture.

And we know that the "evidence" that was used, the phone call, was a phony.

Did they act against a specific family? No, they went in and rounded up everybody, with NO evidence.

This case is falling apart as I type.
