I certainly wouldn't argue that only democratic presidents are fiscally responsible- I admired Mr. Bush senior for raising taxes as part of a plan to deal with the deficit. I think of all the republican presidents I can think of, Mr. Bush senior was one of my favorites- how this current Bush could be his son, I've NO idea.

(And I've always thought his handling of Saddam's invasion was thoughtful and careful- and I have ALWAYS said I supported it. Though I think our foreign service people unfortunately misled Saddam wrt our interest in his activity in the region )
