srael did win many friends with its bombing of Lebanon two summers ago. I think the Likud and Kadima parties believe in the battered wife philosophy. They seem to think that if they abuse and degrade their neighbors enough they will come to love them. Sadly, it has not worked. They also share a trait with the neos in this country; that is, they believe if you bomb the hell out of your foe they will become so intimidated they will go away. The fact that it has not worked in a number of situations doesn't seem to dissuade them from continuing to use that approach. I am afraid slow learners are like that.
