Good post, and I agree completely. Rules always do change from time to time, but its a matter of degrees. When they move into the draconian level, such as resulting in massive business losses without warning, or outright confiscation, its another matter.

If Ecuador had stated they do not want any foreign investment, I would be happy to oblige. Without any rancor or regrets. But if they take my investment dollars, and after the fact inform me that I can't get my money back because the rules have changed, I would not be happy to say the least. And would henceforth be be reluctant to invest in any similar situation, being once bitten.

That is the issue.
