Obviously, Tim, you are free have your own personal definitions for terms (especially if they make you feel better, or something) anytime you want to --- it's a mostly free world.

But the United States Government, and the world's other governments, formally classify Iraq as an 'occupation' right now... (however the US administration is busy negotiating with the elected Iraqi government right now to come up with a formal legal framework of bi-lateral agreements to govern our relations during any post-occupation period.)

It is either that or allow our nation to lapse into internationally recognized illegality when the current UN Authorization for the occupation expires for the last time this December 31st. --- if it isn't replaced by a legal nation-to-nation agreement.
