interesting to me you mention oprah. a black woman. and you seem rather fixated on muslim connections. i have an ex-kkker in my family. more than one. what that make me? why this fixation on muslim? there are many muslims in this country. and are we a CHRISTIAN STATE? what is this re the muslim thing? drop it already. oh noooooooooooooooooo, i have a muslim uncle. run for the hills. silly. it is. i will not be polite about this any longer as you continue to bring this up. and the black thing. the rest of the nation? i dunno. i was raised with black friends. you talk like we a segregated nation so how could a black person connect with whites. for that matter... how could your well-off self connect with a blue-collar? could you? you talk of them as if they are the other. tho as if you know how they think. face it, you are the 'elite'.

Obama and Michelle both got an undergrad degree in African American studies ( I know she did but am not 100% sure he did too. My memory recalls that info in an article about her thesis which had been requested not to be made public till after the Nov election.Inquiring minds found this out so the Obama people allowed it's release ).

I think it's fair to ask them how they have evolved from all that talk and consumption of Black culture into a couple that can relate to the regular American mom and pop that aren't black. That's a fair question.

Michelle Obama's thesis was all about black graduates of Princeton and how they related to blacks after leaving the elite culture of Princeton U.

I have no problem with her studies but I do think she should talk about how she has evolved into someone who represents and is knowledgeable about all of us who sit here in North America and call ourselves Americans. Obama should also address this question.

It is up to the Dems to show Johnny McCain's family is much, much richer and elitist than BO. That is true, at least the rich part. How come the GOP seems to get rich candidates like the Bushes and Johnny Mac and then no one seems to notice their wealth very much but at the same time seem well aware of the wealth and/or income of any Dem? Better PR is the answer. The Dems have to show this in their campaigns this fall.
