Young girls and boys for that matter lack wisdom.

Whenever kids get into trouble it's always easy to find a scapegoat. My experience is that many of them make their own beds.

My third kid was a rebel from age 8. Ran away for good at 15. Ended up with a straight life by the age of 22, but has six kids by four marriages. Finally had the good sense, in his 40's, to marry a strong woman who runs his life.

My other son married a Mexican immigrant with 3 kids. The 12-year-old girl was a cute as they come. I got her into swing dancing and she competed in the Nationals at age 13. But she was totally fixated on the life her older sister had, which was a boyfriend and a kid of her own by age 17. It was like talking to a wall.

Now she is 19, her husband is a member of the Mexican Mafia doing four years in jail for being part of a car-theft ring, her Mother looks after her kid she had at age 16, and she is living with some guy in Northern California.

Sometimes they have to go a long way down before they will face reality.
