What if we shipped some gasoline overseas to drawdown on the so called excess inventories? Watch perception change about refineries. What a crime it would be... Oil is a commodity that is scarce, but not gasoline? It is that marginal barrel, gallon, etc. that makes all the difference. Point in case is heating oil at records relative to previous years this year because of "low" "relative" inventories. One or two tankers is all it would take to change the attitude. Crack spreads would rocket and Congress would have investigations. They would want to withhold all profits. This is not such a wild, far-fetched thought IMO.
