The slimeball didn't even make an attempt to say 'it costs a bunch to make'.

He would be a "slimeball" if he said it, IMO, because that's not how these drugs are priced. Since they have so few customers, they are priced to cover the cost of development.

How the government can continue to put up with this crap is beyond me, as they end up paying via public programs.

It might be reasonable to cover them all via public programs so as not to hurt small insurance pools. The only alternative is to only develop drugs that have a large potential user base.

Do you know of some other alternative?
