my black comment was out of line and said out of annoyance. it was wrong of me. is the muslim thing you bring up bothers me. people actually do that racist thing? that's silly. what bill did in SC, now that was pushing the race issue out there. but so what? would be done sooner or later. better sooner than later. i find it funny to listen to the pundits talk about 'them' (ya know, the blue collar workers and the rednecks) and how they will not go for obama and will freak re rev wright. is the pundits freaking. not the rednecks.

i think hillary is incredible. i hope she does not go so far out there seasoning obama (which i think she is doing) that she spoils her rep too much. cause i would love to see in her in a high cabinet position. not VP. that's a boring job. a real job. where she can work, which she loves ot do, and make a difference.

but the dye is cast. obama will be the candidate. so next step is to get him elected. or spend 100 years in iraq with mccain, while we bomb iran. and clash with russia and china. that be no good.

"The very fact that we are accused of racism "

Don't go away thinking you were accused of racism by me, because you weren't. I never wanted to make a martyr out of you- and if you read my post carefully you'll see I did not ever call you racist- I didn't even imply it. I merely said <gasp> you were like me (and I don't consider myself a racist). So get down off the cross, and realize that maybe some of those instances of being "accused of racism" are people who might imagine they are being accused.

That's the funny thing that happens when we talk about race- imaginations get all fired up, and people start to "hear" things that aren't there.

Pat we had a counselor of color in our department when I counseled and he played the race card. Every time a criticism of him came up he would resort to accusing those of us who were white of being racist. So it can be reversed...

He really precluded any of us from social intercourse. He
was a mean son of a gun and later was fired because he altered transcripts of his kids.

Racial issues work both ways and I often am concerned about my own deep caring for people of color as it might come across as being patronizing... That I would hate.

Two groups from whom I have learned so much in my life are Jews and Blacks. I spent a life time working with both and found it the most rewarding experience in my life.
