Nice thing about Rolexes is that you can wear them and forget about them. My dad wears a stainless one (Oyster) when he goes fishing, he gets engine oil and gasoline and fish guts and blood on it, when he goes hunting he gets deer guts and blood on it, when he used to work as a dentist, mercury and wax and human blood on it, and never any problem with the watch.

Nice watch.

I wear Timex, throw them away when they break. The one I am wearing is two years old and works fine.

At $20 bucks a watch, if I live another 30 years, and each watch lasts 2 years, that's $300. My husband's Timex is five years old. Well, do the math, there's no reason for somebody who doesn't fish, dive, or fly airplanes to wear an expensive watch except as a status symbol.

My kids' educations are my status symbols. ;^)
