"Hitler was a fascist." Yep. "Statist implies the control of means of production and distribution by the state if necessary." By that definition pretty much every government is statist. We've done both in times of war. "but question the leaders and you have problems." That is true of all authoritarian governments. Heck, there are those that believe we should lean more in that direction. Look how many times the word "treason" is thrown around here. Usually in connection with questioning administration policy.
