NOT "government run health care system"; government run insurance. Look at the overhead of Social Security as an close example.

Why would you use SS as an example? Medicare is the best example of what goverment run health insurance looks like. And it is a train wreck.

I have previously pointed out a few of the problems with Medicare. Most importantly, because Medicare wields power, Congress feels it can just cut reimbursement rates at will. The problem with this is that healthcare providers cannot make a living wage at those rates, and additional power would literally drive the best providers out of the business. These are, generally, smart people, and can be employed in other fields that are more rewarding. We do NOT need to concentrate more power over our health care in the hands of Congress.

I could easily write a 50 page essay on the subject and I'm not interested in doing that; but you should educate yourself about government "managed" health care before you start suggesting it as a solution - with it, we'll have the same kinds of problems UK and Canada enjoy -- 6 months waiting on a CT scan because the state of Ohio has more CAT scanners than all of Canada.
